No information is available about who the Jewish owner was who entrusted these forks for safekeeping in Buren.

It was the great-grandmother of the person who gave the forks to the museum who acquired them during the Second World War. She lived in Buren and received the forks from a Jewish woman in exchange for food. The great-grandmother promised to keep the forks for the woman to collect after the war. That never happened. They were given to the museum after the war.
