Research findings

How this candelabrum was acquired by Avenhorn's Dutch Reformed church and who the previous owner was is no longer known.

During the Second World War, the theft of Jewish ritual objects was widespread. Because so little is known about the candelabrum's origins, its provenance may very well be problematic.
