Research findings

When and from whom Schulze obtained this clock is not known.

F.W. van Haagen's documentation (SNK archive inv. no. 1056) refers to this clock: 'An antique Frisian clock at Doetinchem town hall was owned by Rijksduitscher Schulze in Doetinchem'. Comparisons suggests that the clock probably originated in Arnhem. This may be the clock consigned in 1942 by Mr Spanjaard at an Amsterdam auction held by Mak van Waay on 14/15 April 1942 (no. 379). It has as yet proved impossible to identify the clock.
