There is insufficient provenance information known about this object from the period 1933-1945. After investigation, no sources have been found to date that can provide information to complete its provenance in the period. Therefore, no conclusions can be made regarding possible suspicious provenance or involuntary loss of ownership.
De herkomst van dit schilderij is niet sluitend. Op dit moment ontbreken aanknopingspunten voor het doen van verder onderzoek naar de herkomst van dit object voor de periode van 1933 tot en met 1945. Het is onbekend hoe, wanneer en onder welke omstandigheden kunsthandelaar J. Dik jr het schilderij had verworven. Sinds 1941 was het in zijn bezit. In 1944 verkocht hij het schilderij aan E. Göpel via het veilinghuis Dorotheum in Wenen, ten behoeve van het beoogde Führermuseum in Linz. [nl]
