The provenance is not complete. It is not known when, how or under what circumstances art dealership N. Beets, Amsterdam acquired this painting. It is known, however, that art dealer N. Beets submitted this painting to F. Muller's auction on 09 April 1940. The painting then remained in the Dutch art trade until 24 July 1941, when Kunsthandel Douwes had voluntarily sold this painting to the Rhein Landesmuseum, Bonn.
