Uit het herkomstonderzoek naar de periode 1933-1945 komen geen indicaties naar voren die wijzen op mogelijk onvrijwillig bezitsverlies.
De herkomst is vrijwel sluitend. Het object was waarschijnlijk vanaf 1932 maar in ieder geval vanaf 1937 in bezit van kunsthandel Bachstitz. De Restitutiecommissie heeft onderzoek gedaan naar de transacties van kunsthandel Bachstitz met Posse en heeft geoordeeld dat deze niet onvrijwillig waren. This object was highly likely in the possesion of art dealer K.W. Bachstitz since 1932. The provenance is not suspicious during the period 1933-1941, as Bachstitz voluntarily sold it to Posse.
