Kunsthandel St. Lucas heeft het schilderij op 2 oktober 1940 verkocht aan kunsthandel Goudstikker/Miedl, Amsterdam, waarna het vanaf 7 maart 1943 is opgeslagen in de Rheinische Kalksteinwerke in Düsseldorf, Duitsland.
