Research findings

There is no, or insufficient provenance information known about this object from the period 1933-1945. After investigation, no sources have been found to date that can provide information to complete its provenance in the period. Therefore, no conclusions can be made regarding possible suspicious provenance or involuntary loss of ownership.

The provenance of this object is not complete between the years 1933 and 1945. It is not clear how, when and under which circumstances this object came into the possession of E.W. Macdonald, London. It is also not clear how, when and under which circumstances this object came into the possession of art dealer Katz, Dieren. The Restitution Commitee has researched the transactions with Göpel and Posse and has concluded there is no evidence to suggest this was involuntary.
