Research findings

There is no, or insufficient provenance information known about this object from the period 1933-1945. After investigation, no sources have been found to date that can provide information to complete its provenance in the period. Therefore, no conclusions can be made regarding possible suspicious provenance or involuntary loss of ownership.

The provenance of this object is not entirely complete. It is not known from whom, when, how or under what circumstances O. Lanz from Amsterdam acquired the object. O. Lanz died in Amsterdam on 23 March 1935. On 11 March 1941, H. Posse purchased the Lanz collection en bloc from O. Lanz's surviving relatives for the intended Führer Museum in Linz. There are no indications that this transaction was involuntary.
